WS 26: Moving through "Set and Reset" by Trisha Brown

with Dominique Jégou (Rennes)

21 – 23 May 2025 | Potsdamer Tanztage 2025Dance and movement#Techniques & Repertoire

This workshop is based on the piece Set and Reset (1983) by Trisha Brown, regarded as a milestone in the choreographer’s career. Trisha Brown created the work in close collaboration with musician Laurie Anderson and costume designer Robert Rauschenberg. The flowing yet distinctive dance style, which combines improvisation and learned practice, makes the piece truly unique. In his workshop, Dominique Jégou draws on this light, buoyant style through exercises in release technique and improvisation, inviting participants to study sections of the piece together. Dominique Jégou has performed as a dancer with Dominique Bagouet and Trisha Brown, as well as for six years with Boris Charmatz, the current director of the Pina Bausch company. He has been working as a choreographer since 1995.
