Under the direction of dancer and choreographer Laura Gary, fabrik Potsdam is running a project in Brandenburg from Aug 2024 to Aug 2025 with funding from the European Union as part of the Erasmus+ programme.
The project aims to integrate somatic practices, mindfulness and movement into adult education to bridge the urban-rural divide in Brandenburg and promote cultural awareness and expression. It aims to make these practices accessible to people with special needs and refugees, emphasising the role of movement in facilitating language acquisition and promoting integration. This initiative reflects our commitment to using innovative approaches to create a more cohesive and inclusive society.
The project has multiple objectives:
- Stronger community ties, strengthening social and cultural cohesion across Brandenburg by connecting different communities.
- Increased accessibility in education by ensuring that people with special needs have equal opportunities to participate in cultural and educational activities.
- Strengthening the skills of refugees, improving their language skills and social inclusion, with exercise being an important educational strategy.
