Sounds of crumbling stone, washed-out hues. Opaque and seemingly beyond reality, in a timeless dimension – a space that connotes the desert in all its extremes. A place that mirrors an awareness of the absence of everything – extreme monotony in time and space. Five shadowy bodies on a vague quest for something indeterminate, asserting the energies of the mind and imagination in solitude and emptiness with images of an essential nature, oscillating between light and dark, overwhelm and abandonment, surrender and doubt, salvation and destruction.
Together with Romeo Castellucci, Chiara and Paolo Guidi, Claudia Castellucci is the co-founder of Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio (now Societas). The theatre company has garnered a global reputation due to its understanding of theatre, primarily based on the combination of visual, spatial and acoustic impact. Additionally, Claudia Castellucci has been conducting her own research into rhythmic movement for decades, earning her a Silver Lion at the Venice Dance Biennale in 2020. Claudia Castellucci is continuing her choreographic and philosophical research with the Mòra Company, which she founded, striving for minimalist simplicity in the production Sahara.
