For the ZINADA collective, growing up felt like standing in front of massive walls. It was only in adulthood that the artists realised that their parents had built a protective wall around their children to shield them from dangers great and small. The wind, on the other hand, has a very flexible quality: wind can be a violent storm or a light, pleasant breeze. It can quickly change its mood – just like children at the start of puberty. WUW stands for wind and wall. These two terms are good metaphors for a dance piece that deals with the time just before puberty. They symbolise the ambivalent relationship between children and their parents from the perspective of adolescents. WUW is a playful journey with many surprises, adventures, and unexpected transformations.
