JazzLab is collaborating with the Potsdam City and State Library for the first time in a special edition. The library, a place of dreams and imagination, is opening its doors to three performers who will bathe the large, impressive reading room in new light.
Choreographer Golde Grunske, dancer Laura Gary and JazzLab organiser and pianist Nicolas Schulze embark on a search for clues through the rows of books. They work with gentle movements and simple sound impulses to create resonances and reflections. The aim is to mirror and experience the library space in its entirety. The performers ask curiously: What does a library sound like? What movement inspires its specific arrangement and purpose? What connections between space and listeners create silence and deliberately set sound? The audience is invited to follow this search, to discover traces, to lay their own tracks and to interpret them.
