Open Call: Be part of the performance project SHIFTING ARCHITECTURES

With Roberta Ricci & Gabor Hartyani (Berlin)

For the performance project Shifting Architectures, led by choreographer Roberta Ricci and musician Gabor Hartyani, fabrik Potsdam is seeking people of all ages with experience of movement from Potsdam and the surrounding area.

The project is aimed at anyone who enjoys improvisation and artistic exploration. Participants will learn basic techniques for performing in public spaces and in front of an audience. Through the practice of instant composition – the spontaneous creation of movement in the moment – participants will take part in a four-day workshop dedicated to improvisation, perception and site-specific artistic creation. The final performance will be presented on 12 September 2026 as part of fabrik Potsdam’s 2026/27 season opening.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Shifting Architectures explores how movement and sound can shape and transform spaces. This gives rise to choreographic architectures through which stories, encounters and new relationships can emerge. The body serves as both an instrument and a means of expression. A musician accompanies parts of the process and the final performance. The workshop takes place both in the studio and outdoors. The different environments are actively incorporated into the artistic work and inspire the development of movement material and performance.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Roberta Ricci is a dancer, choreographer and lecturer in contemporary dance, and lives in Berlin. She has drawn significant inspiration for her artistic practice from, amongst others, Julien Hamilton, Teri Jeanette Weikel and David Zambrano. In her work, she explores choreography, performance and education as interconnected fields of research. The focus is on the body as a site of perception, memory and transformation. She works internationally in both independent and institutional contexts; her works are presented worldwide in performances and at festivals.
