Shabach, the gospel choir (not only) for shy people, meets vocal ensemble VERZ.
Sing, breathe, pant, talk, sing, shout, cough, whisper, hum, sing, whistle, breathe, moan, sing, stamp, clap, chat, sing!
All this can be heard and tried out on 17 October at the JazzLab. Two Potsdam choirs, which couldn't be more different at first glance, meet. Shabach celebrates contemporary gospel with the eruptive energy of a volcano – in colourful diversity: believers, atheists, amateurs and experienced singers, conducted by Zubin Sethna, a German-Indian Zoroastrian. VERZ, the vocal ensemble of the Rechenzentrum, sounds its way through the history of data processing, from the Renaissance to the present day. Joanna Waluszko, composer and vocal artist, guides this highly specialised a cappella ensemble through a kaleidoscope of moods. In doing so, VERZ explores the limits of the human voice – and how these limits can be pushed.
After the concert, there will be the first purely vocal open stage in the history of JazzLab!
