Expanding the Play Space

“In this workshop, we’ll explore public spaces in a new way. People of all ages who fancy getting active, trying new things, and seeing their surroundings in a fresh light are welcome to join us. Through exercises drawing on dance, parkour (Art du Déplacement), partner work, and rhythm, we’ll explore Schiffbauergasse together. Through games, improvisation, and movement activities, we’ll get to know places and objects such as benches, railings, stairs, and bike racks in a whole new light. What possibilities do these things hold? How do they influence our movements and our perception? At various stations, participants can expect small tasks and prompts. Your own ideas are very much welcome: exercises can be developed further, new game ideas invented and the urban space shaped together. In this way, Schiffbauergasse becomes a vast playground for discovery, encounters, and movement.” Camille Larroque & Stevie Koglin
