The new creation by Thomas Hauert is an encounter: Two companies and six dancers with different backgrounds and abilities share the stage. Where is everybody? takes the perspective of people with disabilities as its point of departure, combining physical presence and direct interaction with the emotional power of music.
As a choreography of the unexpected, the piece deliberately reverses familiar perspectives and asks what movements, relationships, and images can emerge when new viewpoints take the lead. Music and sound play a central role: Personally selected music pieces - ranging from Hildegard Knef and Maurice Ravel to The Communards - act as sources of energy, emotional triggers, and driving forces for movement. Where is everybody? invites us to rethink community - as something fragile, playful, sensuous, and powerfully present.
