The Great Boredom unites the Potsdam pianist Nicolas Schulze and the drummer Daniel Kartmann from Stuttgart. The two musicians have been friends and musical partners for 20 years. Emerging from the wreckage of their former band Nikotrio, The Great Boredom follows the path of a long partnership and negotiates the secrets and thoughts of a two-way conversation. The result is freely associated improvisational music that deliberately refuses to be pigeonholed into any particular genre. Various influences are heard and felt here, from jazz to punk, via noise and baroque music!
