Made in... Cottbus

WLDN / Joanne Leighton (Paris)

23 – 24 May 2020 | Potsdamer Tanztage 2020Dance / performance

Joanne Leighton's Land Art performance had already used during the Potsdamer Tanztage 2019 the Park Freundschaftsinsel and the Film University in Potsdam as setting. As part of the festival 2020, the dance performance is presented this time at special locations in Cottbus. The series Made in... by Belgian-Australian choreographer combines sculpture with nature, Land Art with urbanity. People from Cottbus dealt with their city in special workshops. How does architecture move people and what is human architecture? Swarm movements and joint body constructions draw an abstract portrait of the city. In interaction with a sound installation and futuristic props, places, people and architecture are transformed into a unique choreography that combines opposites and creates a new work of art.
